Our East Coast clients may be familiar with this lure, but for our guys on the Left Coast you’ve probably only encountered the big brother Bait-o-Matic which is more commonly used for sharks and wahoo. The smaller lure does some similar things to the big ones, its heavy chrome finished head shape and weight are designed to provide depth. It’s a great bait to use on the troll, especially for private boaters trying to get more lines in the water from a crowded stern. The lure will give you depth, and that’s a good thing when you’re trying to cover some water and bring up fish from deeper water. It’s also pretty common for the larger fish to be deeper within the school. So, you’ve got a few reasons to consider adding these guys to your lure kit. The lures run about 5.5 inches in length and weight about 3 ounces.
