CNC irons have been getting a lot more popular over the last few years, people like being able to get the action they expect out of a jig every time they buy one. While the classic design of the Salas and Tady irons is still the go-to for most people, it can be hard to find one that swims perfectly as you’d expect since there’s a lot of variation between each piece. Machined aluminum irons solve this issue and let you get a consistent result every time, the question then becomes “Which CNC iron should I get?”. The Meekster irons are a unique shape with offset hips and offer some upgrades in fit and finish over other brands. The rings are TIG welded and look perfect compared to some of the soldered or brazed joins used by other manufacturers, the paint jobs are also quite nice and more durable since they’re powder coated.
The purple and galaxy black colors are especially bright, it’s hard to get a good picture but they have metallic flake and have an almost iridescent look to them in sunlight. This is especially nice on the black color since it contrasts well and will be usable not only during gray light but also daytime since there’s so much color variation in it. The irons are on the larger side, a bit bigger than a Salas 7X at 3.5oz making them easier to cast.
